A Leafing We Will Go

I love fall. Fall is when the weather turns crisp. You can sometimes wear sweaters. Sometimes. Not always because the weather is still unpredictable. Oh well. Fall is when Ethan starts making plans for his Halloween costume. He will be a knight this year, by the way. But most importantly, fall means the leaves begin to change.

The leaves begin to change in the mountains first like so many patches on a quilt before the metamorphoses unfurls itself onto the valley floor. Reds, oranges and brilliant yellows -- and all the colors in between. It is remarkable to me that with every leaf that changes color, that same leaf is just one of many that creates a brilliant display of color.

This last weekend we took a drive up Nebo Loop so that we could see the colors up close. We were able to experience the reds, oranges and yellows first hand and say goodbye to summer once and for all.
