Almost 500 pictures later...
I remembered some really fun things we did as a family. I had forgotten we went miniature golfing and apple-picking. But I am going to journal Blythe's baby blessing.
Blythe was blessed in October. The weather was fantastic, which is just what I wanted because I wanted people to enjoy the weather on the deck in they backyard. Of course, when the time came, nobody cared to do so and stayed indoors instead. Oh well.
We had 9:00 church, and so I decided to have a brunch after sacrament for our family. Everybody was there except for Scott (who was down at SUU) and Jake (who was at U of U). Mom came in from Westchester, and Grandma A recorded the blessing in shorthand. I will transcribe the blessing for Blythe's baby book.
I think that, like most mothers, I worked harder than I should have for the blessing. I was preparing food for the week before and prepping until late into the night before. In the end, the day with family is all what matters. But at the moment I just want things to be perfect! And everything was. Jonathan gave our daughter such a sweet and perfect blessing just for her. It was such a joy to have our daughter surrounded by friends and family and be given a name and a blessing.
I barely had a chance to hold her all day. There were definitely no shortage of arms that needed a baby in them! And Blythe was a good sport through all the loving.
I have to admit that I had intended on having her official blessing portraits done soon after. But... life just became a whirlwind. The next thing I knew it was Thanksgiving and then Christmas. All of a sudden it was almost February! How did that happen? Blythe became six months and I panicked. What if she didn't fit into her blessing gown anymore? I took her portraits this last week. Here are two of my favorites:
Thankfully she still fits in her gown -- with room to spare! What a little pixie.
