After lunch we decided to go up to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. We had such a great time. The Museum has an exhibit right now that is all about the physics of motion. We spent almost an hour enjoying the hands-on exhibits. I think the kids' favorite exhibit was one in which they could collect "smoke" and then send it off into the air by pushing on a ring -- like smoke signals.
The dinosaur exhibits were fun as always and we joked about various things. But who would have thought the kids would have loved building a dinosaur the most? This was in the "little kid" section and it occupied them for a great while:
They were exceptionally pleased with their creation even though they knew it would be dismantled in minutes:
I love these kids. When I told them we should take some dramatic pictures they were all for it. I didn't even have to ask twice.
Here they are getting eaten alive.
Here they are becoming one with the dinosaurs.
And here is one I thought that made learning come to life. This is down in the final display where the kids could create sand structures to bury the dinosaurs. Who says extinction can't come to life?
We ended the day buying treats (and eating them). Even though our plans had to change due to the weather, we still had an awesome day!
