Thanksgiving Point

Last Saturday we indulged in the annual tradition of the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point.  This has been a little bitter-sweet to me for the last two years because it is around this time I lost the baby (two years tomorrow) and I think of the baby every time we go now.

Anyway, this year the sun was out and it is beautiful and warm.  Last year's festival was cold and windy.  I was also in a wheelchair.  Clearly, this year was so much more pleasant and even the tulips seemed happier for it.  Blythe enjoyed the walk and tried to grab at the flowers and Ethan loved entertaining her.  We didn't see any bunnies this year, but we have renewed our annual passes again -- pretty sure that we will catch some bunnies at some point.

The day was crowded and we had to dodge lots of golf carts and wild Segway riders (drivers?) but it was a fun day regardless.  Here are some fun pictures from our day!

The combination of red and white tulips this year were vibrant and beautiful.

Blythe was in love with the grass and flowers.

Jonathan was in love with not having to do any kind of grading!

This is my favorite picture of the Jonathan and Blythe.

Our most recent family picture.  Someday we'll catch Blythe smiling.

I got this shot right before Blythe grabbed a fistful of pansies.  Sorry Thanksgiving Point!

Ethan is so in love with his litter sister.  They are best little buddies.  Blythe follows him everywhere.

Can you tell Blythe was bouncing?  And grass stains on her belly!

She loves flowers.  We'll be spending lots of time in the garden.

It was such a perfect day.  It was amazing how bright and colorful the tulips were this year.

Now that we have our annual passes we are able to go back anytime we want, including before the gardens open to the public.  Blythe and I have gone to walk around for exercise and did catch the bunnies.  We saw some baby bunnies the first day we went and Blythe was fascinated.  It's actually a pretty good thing she was in her stroller otherwise there would be some bunnies without tails.

The tulips are now fading but we are so grateful we were able to see them at their peak.

  1. You are so blessed! And I couldn't be happier for you!

I can, however, be jealous of your proximity to the tulip festival... :)

    1. When you finally make it out here you should try to time it with the festival :)
