Announcements

We have a lot of excitement around here.  Just enough to keep us going when the cold threatens to drown us in its waves.  We are in the depths of winter, and when we are in so deep it is hard to remember that warmer weather will even arrive some day.  But this year, this year, we have an event to keep us focused.

This year, though, we have a baby on its way!

With every wiggle it makes, and heartbeat I hear at every doctor's appointment, I am reminded how grateful I am for my role as a mother.  I am in awe of this child and of its presence.  Its personality and life.  Its will and strength.  It's determination.

Our baby is due on July 25th, historically one day after pioneers arrived in what is now our state, after crossing the plains and over mountains.  These pioneers endured countless trials and adversities for their faith and families only to have to, once again, homestead in a desert out of love for their faith and God.  Already, this little baby has had to show its pioneer spirit that I know comes from its own pioneer heritage and endure great trial to get this far.  Each time, with each ultrasound and heart monitor, its little heartbeat was strong and resounding as if to say, "I dare you."

I have a feeling we've got a handful in our future.
