Arizona

Jonathan, Blythe and I traveled to Phoenix, Arizona in July.  Why July?  It's a very long story and not really pertinent to our vacation.  Needless to say, it was quite hot and a long journey.  Also, never travel Frontier Airlines.

However, we did have a fantastic time.  We missed Ethan like crazy, but he had an even better time than we did because he was attending Makers' Camp at Thanksgiving Point that week.  Everybody had fun wherever they were.

We were at a resort in Gold Canyon and ended up being the youngest people there.  By far.  All the cute "old" people doted on Blythe and ignored us.  Which is probably okay, right?  She floated around the pool in her little floatie like a princess and had a million grandmas and grandpas fawning over her for the whole week.  So was her mama.

Like always, I forgot to take pictures most of the time, but the pool was by far Blythe's favorite.

The week surprisingly flew by.  I was able to meet a friend I only knew from my writing group online and Jonathan took a wood carving class.  We drove down to Nogales where we spent the day with my cousin Aida and her family.  Jonathan and I were curious about the border fence since it is often spoken about in the news and referred to politically, so we ventured out to look at it and speak to people about it.  That was an interesting experience.

Jonathan and I also went and saw the Mesa temple.  It was being worked on and there was a lot of scaffolding up, but we still walked around.  It was probably the hottest day that day, so we didn't stay long after cooling off in the visitor's center.

We took a drive through a canyon and were teased by a beautiful lake.  Definitely the last two days of our trip were the hottest.

This was a really great trip.  Blythe had so much fun and we all melted a little in the sun.  I think we would all go to Arizona again -- just not in July!
