Blythe Turns One!

As most people who are a part of our lives know, this pregnancy was an Epic Pregnancy. I was pregnant Forever.  I am fairly certain my gestational period was akin to that of an elephant's (22 months).  Part of this was because we knew I was pregnant at such an early stage -- around 6 or 7 weeks -- and also because I had already been pregnant before Blythe and then miscarried.

There were a great many ultrasounds and even more trips to the hospital with contractions towards the end.  There were many nights (and days) spent sleeping off shots of morphine.  Finally, our sweet little Blythe Be a was born.  Early, of course, as she does things her own way.

And now a year has passed.  My sweet little girl is one.  Do you remember this adventure with us?  I remember every single moment:

There was the time she waved hello to me as if she was giving me a high-five.

And then she was born and had to chill in NICU for a while so she could learn to breathe on her own.

Finally, we brought her home and she was right where she belonged.

My heart is full.  Here we are at a year, and now?  Now we celebrate this darling gift -- my miracle baby.  She is the light of my life, and -- along with her brother -- make my life's purpose complete.

The day was perfect.
