I Plead Forgiveness!

Yes, I deserve to be ashamed of myself.  How could I have let myself lapse on my blog?  What can I say?  It has been a crazy summer.  If it is any consolation, I have been lazy on my other blog, too.  This is probably not any consolation at all, but it makes me feel better.

Here are some quick highlights before I blog some big stuff:

Jonathan:
  • Continues with his doctorate program.  He is blazing trails in his program and we are ALL excited to see him finish (hopefully) soon!
  • Will not be teaching any classes at Mt. Nebo Junior High this year.  Instead, he will be full time at the office which will still be the same administrative load, but about half of the at-home work.  No more grading!  No more lesson planning!
  • Spoke to soon!  He will be teaching two classes at UVU this fall.
  • Enjoyed playing with Blythe this summer and watching her grow.
  • Experienced a cross-country road trip with Ethan (more about that later).
  • Indulged his wife on vampire-style bike rides through the neighborhood late at night.
Ethan:
  • Grew about a thousand inches.
  • Sprouted two chest hairs, named Bill and Bob.
  • Caught three frogs on his way home from the road trip with his dad.  Yay?
  • Began his own blog!
  • Read 13 million books.
  • Road his bike through the neighborhood.
  • Played with his sister like a maniac and is her best friend.
  • Is anticipating 6th grade with great excitement.
Cristina:
  • Labeling the pantry, one new tupperware at a time.
  • Trying new Pinterest recipes.  (Do NOT try drying strawberries.)
  • Getting the household back on schedule.
  • Enjoying my big-kid tricycle.
  • Still battling baby weight.
  • Working on stories and essays to get published.
  • Dreaming of the vegetable garden that never happened.
  • Loving the role of stay-at-home mom.
Blythe:
  • Discovered the dishwasher as the best place to sit in the house.
  • Loves to swim in any amount of water.
  • Dancing is always an option.
  • Sprouted five teeth.
  • Is a carb girl like her mama.
  • Loves to cuddle her babies and stuffed animals.
  • Has a stealing habit.
  • Would rather be naked.
As you can see, our lives have been full of delightful little things sandwiched between the big things this summer.
