While walking up the canyon today, Jonathan remarked that the reservoir was filling up again. To this, our blissful child who knows our fondness in discussing vocabulary (I know, I know...) remarked, "Or is it a 'dam'?" It sounded innocent enough. That is, until he started snickering. I looked down at him just in time for him to say under his breath, "The damn dam..."
I couldn't help it. I laughed. I couldn't hardly scold him. He looked at me and said, "What? It's just 'dam'. It's not like I said, 'damn'."
What can be said when your child has learned the art of the pun?
He looks so innocent, too.
